Saturday Ride
by Steve ~ March 31st, 2007. Filed under: Riding the Bike. With bad weather looming I decided on a Saturday ride. Called Mike, but he wasn’t about. Since I’d just tuned the BOD and it was ready to go, I took it.
Took a nice route west on St. Matthews, then Silver, then Bruce out to the hospital. From there, Hamilton to Isbister Park at the Perimeter Highway. Back on the other side of Portage Avenue to Coleridge park, Assiniboine, Vialoux, loop of the park, Wellington Crescent and home.
The weather was not bad, the roads reasonably dry. The BOD has fenders, anyway. I was a bit wary of a long ride on the BOD, but the saddle adjustment really made a difference. The bike was quite comfortable.
Chatted with a guy walking his dog in Coleridge Park. He was surprised to see cyclists out so early this year, but the weather has been good and the early Daylight Savings Time has even meant an evening ride already.
Good ride. If the storm misses us, perhaps tomorrow, too.

Amazing that you are out already on the bike, but then again, I see people in Edmonton cycle all year round, even in blizzards and snowstorms (which is nuts, I think). I hope to cycle a bit more this summer, but still find it hard to do it alone - it’s not that inspiring. Whatever. I did buy a Nautilus upright cycle and it’s in the basement - so I can do cardio workouts now at any time.
