Out and About
by Steve ~ April 7th, 2007. Filed under: Riding the Bike.The streets were empty, almost ghost-townish today as I ran a few errands. Good Friday. It was also brutally cold. Very few cyclists out, and those bundled up. The pictures look deceptively bright and warm. You can see the river is still frozen, the riverwalks flooded.

The cold is making it difficult to do more than essential, utilitarian cycling. At -28 with windchill, you just want to get where you’re going, and get there quickly. This time last year we were doing long, weekend rides for fun. It’s hard to say when we’ll get out this year.
