Another SuperCycle maniac

Okay, this is cool. I found a blog called “Maple Leaf Test Rides“, subtitled “The continuing saga of test riding a Supercycle SC1800 (Canadian Tire product # 71-1556)”. Yep, the very same bike I’m riding. This fella started riding his SC1800 back in December 2005. To date he’s put on 3,892 Km. The blog is full of maintenance details, photos, etc. I’m clearly not the first cyclist to try this experiment, and it’s nice to see that he’s put so many clicks on his SuperCycle. I guess if I can repeat his results this will be REAL SCIENCE instead of just anecdotal.

If you’re a little intrigued by the possibility of a $99 bike from reading my blog, you’ll really want to dig further by checking out this one.

I knew that bike could hold up pretty well.It does seem he’s replacing a lot of parts. I hate when my shit spends my money. My car just blew 700 bucks the week before I came up to Winnipeg. I got a nicer ride out of it.

The bike would hold up a lot longer if it was not out in the elements 24/7 and ridden thru the winter…most bikes are for life given a little TLC of not being left out in the rain.
