Next Laser - SC1800 Carbon copy?

Next Laser
Next Laser, available at Walmart… SC1800 carbon copy?
I was at Walmart yesterday and looked at their bikes. They have a Next Laser at $97 that looks identical to the SC1800. Next Bicycles distributed by Next Bike, a subsidiary of Dynacraft, a company that manufactures, makes or distributes a number of different bicycle brands, including a number manufactured in China and Taiwan. Oh, what a tangled web! Is there some foreign factory manufacturing these bottom-of-the-line bikes for major bike distributors and department stores?

I still don’t know who makes the SC1800. Canadian Tire has apparently worked with a number of manufacturers in creating SuperCycle bicycles. Quebec’s ProCycle has been involved. I’ve found the names Kran Corporation (Taiwan), and Shun Lu Bicycle Company (China), but nothing certain. There’s a “Made in Canada” sticker on one of the chain stays, but does that mean it was manufactured here or that the parts were assembled here. The gear shifters and derailers are all Falcon, which is a British company. Who knows.
