BOD on Holiday — August 7 — 3.8 Km

The nightmare continues. After a short spin, the rear tire blew. WTF? I have noticed, while cycling, that both donated tires, although inflated to the top of their rating (50 PSI), seem to have no lateral strength… that is, they sway from side to side with weight on them. This is especially noticeable on the rear tire, even with the new AlexRim wheel. I haven’t seen anything like this on any other bike I own. Granted, my other bikes have higher quality tires, Specalized Armadillo’s or similar. Frustrated, I replaced the tube on the road and cycled carefully back to the cabin. I have lost all confidence in the Bike of Doom. Poor quality factory parts, combined with donated tires that have seen better days have created a rolling example of Murphy’s Law… whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.
