New look and feel for the Bike of Doom blog
by Steve ~ February 10th, 2008. Filed under: This blog.
I’m expanding the blog and have been looking for a good WordPress theme that could handle what I want to do in terms of content, something more modular than I had before. Unfortunately, I couldn’t really find one in the usual Theme Sites, so I built this one myself. Please excuse the work of my inexperienced hands. I am clearly not a graphic designer, but I hope to have this place spruced up over the next little while.
So, what’s going to be here? I’ll continue to track my own adventures on the Supercycle SC1800 Bike of Doom, of course, but will also have more advice on getting the most out a department store bike. I’ve got some solid experience in that regard. I also think it’s necessary to provide gentle encouragement to owners of Department Store Bikes to upgrade to a reasonably good bike from a Local Bike Shop, particularly if enjoyment has been squeezed out of the DSB. I’ve seen the excitement that happens when somebody gets their hands on their first good bike. It’s quite amazing. I’ve gone through it myself, too.
Over the next little while I’ll be reorganizing the content a little, changing categories, grouping some posts in special categories, moving other posts to new categories entirely. Nothing will be deleted. “Don’t Panic,” to quote the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. It’s just a planet… I mean blog.
Your comments, of course, are welcome.

I liked the old layout where it was possible to see several old posts on the front page. This is a bit more confusing.
Good to see you’re back on the bike! I was worried you were done with Bike of Doom in November.

You’re the only one who has commented on the change, but I think you may be right. The majority always brood silently.
